If I Had Wings
If I had wings to fly
Above your barren words
Across the bones of your desert
Into that oasis called heart
Like a vulture to devour the
Remains of fear and doubt
Would you believe?
If I flew on hawk wings strong enough
To rip sadness from your soul
Scheme to sink it in the sea
Lace joy through loopholes
In your despair, sweet rapture
Would you believe?
If I could fly on angel wings
Soar above your deepest valley
Shelter you from angry storms
Melt you with soft whispers
Of moonbeams and fantasies
Perched on cotton candy clouds
Dangling our feet amongst the stars...
Then would you believe
I love you

Answers in the Wind
North wind at my back, bracing bitter memories
Stop me frozen in my tracks on the edge,
About to fall. Tangled like my life, silky strands
Of hope to bind me. Cool hands of forgiveness
Brush the hair from my face.
Crying to the breeze, I ask where it is he takes me;
Changes in direction, confusing compass hands
Spins the South wind, ever gentle breezes blowing
Wraps me in his arms, softly sways me to his heart.
Caution in the wake of the storm that approaches
Certain tides from the East wind might carry me away
Warning speaks in whispers, of glass dreams that shatter
Listen to the siren; take shelter in his love.
Peaceful is his voice, breath of passion bids me follow
Folding wings around me, I feel his strength for flight
Journey on the West wind, dream sweet dreams forever
Lost in his eyes, to rest my soul with his.
