I Remember You

Memories
churn
a month of Sundays
strewn
across this moment
like the happenstance
of fallen leaves

faceless eyes
haunting halls
of my mind
as if sight had a sound
and thunder were tender

you reach for me
through the tempest
that shifted us eternities
from where we longed
to be
carved in stone

I cannot let go

as I embrace
another thorny stem
from my dormant bed
of dreams
awaiting
scarlet blooms

lovingly
I remember you
